Vikram – Vijay project to take off in September!
He has roped in hero Vikram for his new project. The latest news is that the project likely to commence its shooting in September.
Director Vijay said “It is something different, as the whole film hinges on Vikram’s performance in a very difficult role.
There will be two heroines who have to match up to the hero to make it convincing. It will be laced with emotions and at the same time, it will be also be a feel-good family entertainer that will leave a lump in your throat.
My regular team of Nirav, GV, Selva and Anthony will be backing me up. I can’t reveal anything more about the film at this stage.” Read more...

Vikram act Deputy Commissioner of Police in next flim Vedi
Raavanan is a forthcoming Tamil film written, produced and directed by Mani Ratnam.
The film stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai and Prithviraj Sukumaran in
the lead roles, with a supporting cast comprising of Prabhu
Ganesan, Karthik Muthuraman, Priyamani and Munna.
The film is expected to be released on 18 June 2010, along with its dubbed Telugu version titled Villain.
The film is also simultaneously shot in Hindi as Raavan with a slightly different cast.
In 2008, Vikram was signed up to portray the male lead antagonist of Raavanan while Prithviraj Sukumaran was cast in the protagonist role.
Whilst in Hindi, its role-reversal for Vikram, as he plays the protagonist and Abhishek Bachchan plays the antagonist.
Aishwarya Rai will play the female lead in both versions of the film.
Shooting began in the southern part of India at the end of October 2008. During filming, Mani Ratnam became ill which delayed the filming for a few months in 2009.
However, the film began its last schedule in August 2009. The film finished filming and went into post production by October 2009.
V. Manikandan was hired as the film's cinematographer. However he was replaced in early 2009 by Santosh Sivan.This film has numerous action scenes and stunts performed by the actors.
The Kerala martial art form kalarippayattu is also featured in the film. Dancer Astad Deboo choreographed a passionate chase
scene and tandav dance between Vikram and Aishwarya Bachchan for the film.
Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee designed Aishwarya Rai's costumes in the film.
Filming has taken place in numerous locations around India including the forests of Kerala, Ooty, Jhansi, Kolkata, Mahabaleshwar and in the Malshej Ghats in Maharashtra.
While filming in Kerala, the production temporarily ran afoul of forest officials for not following regulations; the issues were resolved by October 22.
The soundtrack for the film is composed by A. R. Rahman with lyrics penned by Vairamuthu. It features 6 songs and was released on 5 May by Sony Music.
Actor Vikram, who plays two different roles in Maniratnam’s forthcoming flick ‘Raavanan’ in two versions, is now going to appear in the role of Deputy Commissioner of Police in his next film ‘Vedi’ to be directed by Boopathy Pandian. Ileana plays the lady love of Vikram in the film.
The movie is produced by Mohan Natarajan and Devi Sri Prasad will be scoring the music. They say that the movie will be a mix of action, comedy and romance.
Insiders close to the director says that the director has taken immense care while writing the script so that there are no loopholes in it and surely it would be a mass masala to Chiyaan fans.

Ajith and Vijay Next Superstar in Kollywood - Vikram
Vikram is the right person to answer the question "Who will be the next Superstar in Kollywood ?"
Vikram’s interview to a popular Tamil magazine states that both Ajith and Vijay have the capacity to be the next Superstar of Kollywood. The actor pointed out that several of Vijay’s films have been a huge success in the past.
Speaking about Ajith, he said that the actor has a charming appearance just like Shah Rukh Khan. Hence both of them are eligible to race for the next Superstar spot, said Vikram.

Vikram and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on screen chemistry!
The famous star Vikram is very much happy with Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’. He says that the film will be a milestone in his film career as he is playing the hero role in the Tamil version of Ravvan and villain role in the Hindi version, which has not been done so far by any actor.
Admiring his director Maniratnam, he says that he was surprised in seeing himself in two different attitudes and all the credit goes to director in getting him perfect for the two shades.
Appreciating Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the lead actress of the film, Vikram says that she is gorgeously beautiful and a thorough professional and her dance movements in the film were really astonishing. And the on screen chemistry between both of them was very great and everyone will definetly feel it while watching the movie.
Chiyaan says, he and Abhishek Bachchan his co-actor in Raavan became good friends. He also said Abhishek knew him well before Raavan itself.

National Award Winner 'Vikram-Bala' join again?
After making careers out of ‘Sethu’ and ‘Pithamagan’ the national award winning actor Vikram and the national award winning director Bala alliance is ready to strike again.
In all likelyhood this fantasy team will work in a film produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri. Dhayanidhi Alagiri's Cloud Nine is the most prolific production house today. Immediately after ‘Thamizh Padam’ it announced ‘Thoonga Nagaram’. After this, Cloud Nine Movies will produce Ajith's landmark 50th film. Vikram-Bala film will be the fourth by this mega banner.
All formalities are completed and Vikram got his hefty pay in tune with his market value after ‘Raavan’ according to news.
Vikram is currently busy with Selva's film and Bala with his new film ‘Avan-Ivan’.
