Sarath Kumar ready to give another Success in Mollywood

Tamil superstar sa who had left a permanent mark in the minds of Malayali viewers with his portrayal of Kunkan in 'Pazhassi Raja' will soon be back to Malayalam films.

The actor would be seen in 'Oridathoru Postman', to be directed by Shaji, who had earlier directed 'Shakespeare MA Malayalam' along with Shaiju.

Sarath Kumar plays a character by the name of Yasin Mubarak, a wild life photographer. He feels that the film deals with a very serious and relevant theme that would have humor as its backdrop. Sarath who had been approached by many directors after the success of 'Pazhassi Raja', immediately said Yes to this project, since he was impressed by the theme.

Along with Sarath Kumar, Kunchacko Boban, Innocent and Kalabhavan Mani would also be a part of the cast. Meera Nandan and Archana Kavi are the heroines of the film. Suraj Venjarammoodu, Salim Kumar, Jaffer Idukki and Bijukuttan lend support.

The film has been scripted by K Gireesh Kumar. Shaji and Basheer Silsila produce the film under the banner of Nila Creations. The shoot of the film would start at Thodupuzha on the 5th of March. Read more...

Sarathkumar Wins Kerala Best Actor Award

Reigning Tamil actor Sarathkumar, who recently made his acting debut in Malayalam with superstar Mammootty's historical film Pazhassi Raja, won the best actor award at the the Sathyan Memorial Film Awards instituted in memory of late Malayalam actor Sathyan. He shares the award with actor Manoj K. Jayan, who also played a meaty role in Pazhassi Raja.

Actress Padmapriya and Archana Kavi won the best actress award, while Oscar Award winner Resul Pookutty was chosen for a special award. Veteran actor Madhu got an award for his contributions to Malayalam films. The awards were announced in Kollam on Tuesday by actor Kalpana, a committee member ffrom the jury that selected the award winners.

Innocent, Kaviyur Ponnamma and Rehman have been chosen for special awards. Gokulam Gopalan is the best producer. M.G. Sreekumar is the best singer (male) and Gayatri the best singer (female). V.G. Muralikrishnan is the best supporting actor (male) and Rima Kallingal the best supporting actor (female).

Club president A. Sharafudeen said that the Rotaray District Governor K.S. Sasikumar had been selected for the best social welfare award and Nissar Syed for the best media award. The awards will be presented by Ministers P.K. Gurudasan and N.K. Premachandran at a function at the club grounds on February 10.
