Madhavan confirmed doing 3 Idiots remakes

3 Idiots remakes in Tamil and Telugu, the selected 3 Idiots are Vijay, Simbu and Madhavan.

Now madhavan has confirmed that he will not be doing the Tamil and Telugu remakes of Raju Hirani directed cult classic 3 Idiots.

The grapevine was abuzz in the last few weeks about top south Indian director Shankar doing a Tamil and Telugu version of the film with Vijay and Mahesh Babu respectively.

Madhavan was to be the only common thread between the original and regional versions.

However Maddy who was offered a bomb to do the regional versions, has flatly said ‘No’ to the producers Gemini Film Circuit.

Now the actor has also tweeted: “So sorry folks! I’m unable, to do 3 Idiots in Tamil and Telugu. Have other plans. I am sure they will find worthier replacements” Read more...

3 Idiots play Vijay, Simbu and Madhavan in kollywood

The biggest blockbuster in Indian cinema, Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots, is going to be remade by a leading south Indian film production company in Tamil and Telugu.

Shankar, the numero uno director in south India, has confirmed to news channels in Andhra that he will be in charge of the remake. There will be an official statement once Shankar decides on the cast and crew of the film.

Meanwhile, Shankar’s publicist has tweeted that Vijay, Simbu and Madhavan, along with Sathyaraj (playing the role made memorable by Boman Irani), will feature in the Tamil version, while the only change in the Telugu version will be Mahesh Babu replacing Vijay.

If this dream project takes off, then it will perhaps be the biggest ever movie in south cinema.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the producer of the original, has confirmed that he has sold the remake rights to the leading production house in south, who had earlier purchased his Munna Bhai MBBS.

A spokesperson of the production house confirmed that the project will take place after Shankar releases his magnum opus Endhiran.

Asked why Shankar, who normally does not do remakes, has opted for the project, the spokesperson said, “After doing a film (Endhiran) which cost more than Rs 100 crore, he cannot go back to doing mundane movies.

The remake of 3 Idiots is a bilingual and features big stars like Vijay and Mahesh.
It cannot get bigger than this.” Shankar and the production house feel that what will work in favour of the film, apart from being a multi-starrer, is its “story, which has pure Indian sentiments and the message about the educational system.”

“Education is one of south India’s biggest industries and Shankar will make necessary changes and package it to suit the taste of the local audiences,” the source added.


Meanwhile, Madhavan has tweeted, “So sorry folks! I’m unable to do 3 Idiots in Tamil and Telugu. Have other plans.I am sure they will find worthier replacements.”

Maddy recommends Ajith, Vijay, Vikram for 3 Idiots Tamil remake

“Ajith, Vijay and Vikram will be the right choices to play the lead roles if ‘3 Idiots’ is remade in Tamil,” says Madhavan, one of the lead players of the Hindi hit, directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Saying he has turned down an offer to repeat the act in Tamil, he adds, “Because, I had already given my heart and soul to the character I played in the Hindi version. So I don’t think it will be interesting if I do the Tamil remake too.”

On suggesting Ajith, Vikram and Vijay for the Kollywood version, he says, “the film will sure become a super hit here if the three come forward to join forces. The top actors would fit to the roles well besides adding star value to the movie.”

Draw his attention to the fact that he is not acting in Tamil films of late, Madhavan says, “that is my mistake. Since I delivered few flops, I wanted to take a break and concentrated on Hindi movies. But I am making a comeback with Kamal sir’s next venture.” Read more...

Kamal Hassan and Madhavan get together again (Directed by K S Ravikumar)

Madhavan has always said that he’ll act in Tamil movies if he comes across a good script. Looks like he has finally found one intresting. The movie is with none other than Kamal Hassan for his next movie Yavarum Kaelir. This movie is directed by K S Ravikumar.

This is the second time that Kamal and Madhavan will be seen together in a film. They co-starred earlier in Anbe Sivam. Maddy’s Naan Aval Adhu is still awaiting release and his Hindi Movie Teen Patti has hit the screen this weekend.

Kamal Hassan’s daughter Shruthi will also be scoring the music for Kamal’s next movie Yaavarum Kelir with K S Ravikumar. 3 Idiots Madhavan Starring Naan Aval Adhu Tamil Movie

Madhavan’s long awaited project ‘Naan Aval Adhu’ is still remaining, recently, the actor was present in Chennai for a brand endorsement filming and had interacted with media channels. When asked about his present projects over here, the actor apparently replied that he hasn’t signed any Tamil films as most of the scripts were clichéd.

Doubtlessly, this question is topmost on the minds of Maddy’s fans who are eagerly looking out for his next Tamil release. It’s been nearly a year after the releases of ‘Guru En Aalu’ and ‘Yaavarum Nalam’ and Madhavan hasn’t signed any Tamil projects.

Madhavan turns professor in Teen Patti!

R Madhavan has got reasons to smile. After the super success of ‘3 Idiots’, he is all set to bounce back with yet another big film titled ‘Teen Patti’. R. Madhavan is thrilled about the new character he dons in the film.

Madhavan excitedly informs, “I have graduated from a student in ‘3 Idiots’ to a professor in ‘Teen Patti’. The film is based on a fresh and different concept which falls under the category of a hard-core masala film.”

Madhavan's life changed by 3 Idiots

R Madhavan cannot stop smiling after scoring a huge hit in 3 Idiots, co-starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sharman Joshi.

The actor's performance has been much appreciated, and Bollywood seems to have opened its doors even wider to him.

He tells Syed Firdaus Ashraf how his life has changed after the film's release.

How is life after the success of 3 Idiots?

I think we moved from happiness to supreme happiness to ecstasy. Now, we're numb. I don't know how to react any more because the film has broken Sholay's record. It has touched people the way we expected it to. I have seldom met someone, who has not seen the film more than once. So obviously, the film has stuck a chord somewhere. I think (director) Raju Hirani is the true superstar of the film.

But how has your life changed after its release?

Let us put this way: I cannot eat paani puri on the road. But I'm not complaining.

People have come and told me that they could open up and speak to their fathers in real life just like my character, Farhan Qureshi did in 3 Idiots.
