AR Rahman will compose ‘Jai Ho’ in Tamil Version

While speaking at the felicitation event held in New Delhi on Wednesday, organized by Delhi Tamil Sangam, AR Rahman said that he will compose ‘Jai Ho’ in Tamil by next year.

The Academy award winner said that he got an idea of composing the new anthem ‘Jai Ho’ in Tamil when he heard children singing the song in Hindi version during the event.

Along with Rahman, Nobel Prize winner Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, Apollo Hospitals Chairman Dr Prathap C Reddy, former CBI director D R Karthikeyan and Siddha expert J R Krishnamurthy were also felicitated during the event.

Illayaraja, AR Rahman honored with Padma Bhushan

The most honorable prestigious Padma awards were announced for the year 2010.All over 130 awards has been announced to be given in March or April at a grand event at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan, New Delhi. Out of these 130 awardees, 6 are Padma Vibhushan, 43 Padma Bhushan, and 81 Padma Shri.

Every year the awards will be announced in the fields of art, medicine, literature & education, trade and industry, sports, public affairs, civil service, journalism, science and engineering and social work.

India’s music maestros A.R. Rahman and veteran music composer Ilayaraja have been presented with the Padma Bhushan in the field of art.And the Bollywood actor Aamir Khan was also awarded with Padma Bhushan While, actress Rekha, Saif Ali Khan, sound engineer Resul Pookutty and Arundhati Nag have been honored with Padma Shri.

Indian cricketer Virendra Shewag, badminton star Saina Nehwal, boxer Vijendra Singh and racer Narain Karthikeyan will be awarded with Padma Shri in Sports field.
