Kamal Hassan in Marmayoghi start third week of February!

Marmayoghi is all set to start by the third week of February. The film which was initally produced under the banner of Bharath Bala will now be co-produced by none other than Walt Disney Productions.

Bharat who has earlier worked with AR Rahman in Vande Mataram has roped in the Mozart of Madras in this film. It will also see Kamal Hassan and AR Rahman coming together again.

Marma Yoghi is a historical story, set in the seventh century. The film is also said to become the most expensive film in India with the budget exceeding 120 crore. Rajinikanth’s Robot with a budget of more than 100 crore will be stiff competation for Marmayogi.

Marmayogi is the remake of 1951 MGR and Anjali Devi starrer movie with the same name. The story is based on the novel by Marie Corelli – Vendetta, A Story of One Forgotten.

Hema Malini has already been signed for the movie. The hunt for the other heroines(two more) is on. Buzz is that Asin is one of the heroines. Kamal has made a trip to Thailand to find out suitable locations for Marmayogi.

Shriya to pair with Kamal for Marmayogi?

Shriya is one actress who shot to fame after being paired with superstar Rajinikanth in Shivaji. She was even referred to as Shivaji girl after the sucess of the movie. Then on the actress went on to do a couple of Bollywood movies and also a Hollywood movie.

The latest buzz doing the round is that she has been approched for the next magnum opus by Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan. ”I went over to cloud nine when they approached me to act opposite Kamal sir in "Marmayogiâ". However, talks are still on and nothing has been finalized yet.’ Shriya Saran said when quizzed about this.

Shriya is currently busy with Kandasamy, Jaggubai and a Hollywood film ‘The other side of the line’ produced by Ashok Amritraj. She will need to find time for Marmayogi with her busy schedule but the actress is excited about working with Kamal and is ready to squeeze in time for Marmayogi.

Marmayogi will be launched in a very grand function to be held in Mumbai (tentatively) on July 25, 2008. Many big shots of Bollywood and Kollywood are expected to attend this grand function.
