THA is a film which is coming totally with the debut casting. The film directed by debutant Surya Prabhakar has created a great interest in the audience. The whole team of THA has given their heart and soul for the film and rest left with the audience.

Surya (Sri Hari) is a guy who stays in a village near by Coimbatore. He is good at heart but a tough guy who spends his time with his friends and is against love. He changes his view on love in an incident and his parent’s starts searching a bride for him. The search ends with Jothi (Nisha) who is a family friend’s daughter. Here the love story starts between both of them and at some pout he starts doubting her for stupid causes. From here the film gives a turn whether Jothi forgives and marries him or not? On how Surya decides will turn up into a surprising climax.

Highlights:

Sri Hari is a perfect fit for the rustic role, while Nisha looks good and performed well even tough this is her first outing.

Benito, Madhan, Shanmugam, Vettrivel and Govindan who played as Sri Hari’s friends did well are good fit.

Coming to the supporting cast Subramani and Vasanthi as Sri Hari’s parents did their roles as experienced actors.

Sri Vijay’s Music strikes a chord of Ilayaraja.

On a whole the film tests the patience and will surely give a good feel of short story.

Veteran actor Sathyaraj is going to play the role of the professor in the Tamil version of ‘3 Idiots’. In Hindi the role was performed by Boman Irani in a stunning manner.

On speaking Sathyaraj says “Yes, I am thrilled about working with Shankar. Though I denied the villain role he offered me in Sivaji, he was great enough to approach me for this meaty role in the 3 Idiots remake,”

He also thanked Shankar for giving him a great opportunity after a long gap. I heard that I am playing the role of Ileana’s father in the film.

When asked for why he denied the role in Shivaji he says “I acted with Rajinikanth in Mr Bharath because I had equal footage. But the villain role in Sivaji did not have much scope for me. So I took a firm decision said no.”

There have been rumours linking between popular South Indian actress Nayantara and choreographer-actor-director Prabhu Deva in the past, which the actress denied on several occasions! Going by the latest developments, it appears that these rumours were not unfounded true and the latest buzz in Chennai is that the couple may tie the knot in December.
“Nayan has given up her career as her priority is to marry Prabhu Deva. They are made for each other and are just waiting to legalise their relationship the moment Prabhu’s divorce from his wife comes through,” a source close to Nayantara was quoted as saying.
Reportedly Prabhu’s family has accepted Nayantara and she is the darling of the household. Recently, the couple is said to have exchanged garlands during a big homam performed by Prabhu’s dad Sundaram Master.
“Last Tuesday, they were spotted at a Vadapalani theatre holding hands and watching Karthi’s Naan Mahaan Alla,” a source added. Prabhu Deva also took her to Paris during the shoot of Jayam Ravi’s Ich, which he’s directing.

Long time industry buzz Ajith’s much hyped 50th project titled ‘Mangatha’ had its movie launch in recent times.

Latest news is that the film director Venkat Prabhu after conferring with a foremost numerologist has decided to change the spelling of the film from ‘Mangatha’ to ‘Mankatha’.

The film is said to be a bilingual mega multi project to be made both in Tamil and Telugu. The film casts Ajith, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna, Manoj Manchu, Ganesh Venkatraman, Premgi Amaran and newcomer Maahat in the main roles.

Though Lakshmi Rai is confirmed to be part of the film, the heroine of the film is yet to be finalized. Yuvan Shankar Raja is going to compose tunes which will kick start from September.

Director Venkat Prabhu said “The film will be treated like on the lines of Bourne Identity.

At the music launch, when Rajinikanth came on stage to talk about the movie and his experience working in it, he said the real stars of the movie are Kalanithi Maran, Shankar, A.R. Rahman and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Young & handsome hero Simbu who was out of Shankar’s new project ‘3 Idiots’ was off to London the very next day to participate in the shooting of ‘Poda Podi’.

The unit says that 40 days schedule is planned in London out of which first 25 days are being used for the talkie portions and the remaining days for song picturizations.

The shooting will kick start from today.The lead heroine of the film Varalaxmi was already off to London and making practice for the dance with her troupe.

The film is directed by Vignesh Siva and produced jointly by Gemini Films and Padma Kumar.

Sources say that as the title it self indicates the film is full of energetic rom and com. It is all about an energetic couple full of life and loving to dance.

There are many songs and dancing sequences in the film.

Asin: once again facing the camera for her Vijay

After Asin’s controversial visit to Sri Lanka for the shoot of her Salman Khan starrer Ready, the actress is once again facing the camera for her Vijay starrer Kaaval Kadhal in a bungalow on ECR in Chennai on Monday.

Asin, during her Sri Lanka shoot stirred a hornet’s nest back home in Tamil Nadu when she became the first Kollywood star to visit former LTTE strongholds of northern and eastern Lanka for social and humanitarian work.

But what made Tamil film industry see red was when she took an army chopper in the company of Shiranthi Wickramasinghe Rajapaksa, wife of the Sri Lankan president.

The actress was virtually crucified for no fault of her by the pro- Sri Lankan Tamil group, Nadigar Sangam and other film organizations. But better sense prevailed, due to the matured handling of the situation by Sarath Kumar and co.

Let us hope the matter has been sorted out and Asin can provide entertainment to lakhs of her fans worldwide.

Meanwhile director Siddique is trying to complete the entire shoot of the film with this schedule.

Rajini: Endhiran complete, moves next flim…

The animation film starring Rajinikanth, Sultan – The Warrior, has been in the making for the last couple of years. This film is directed and produced by his daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth.

Our sources in Kollywood report that since it involves a lot of graphics work the film has been delayed. Further, Endhiran, which has Superstar in the lead role, was also another reason for the delay.

With Endhiran’s release date fixed for the month of September, work on Sultan – The Warrior may begin in October. According to our sources, Rajinikanth may take a break after the release of Endhiran and commence this animation flick in October.

Shriya who made her come back after a long gap has started her shooting for the film in Chennai.

You are the first to know if you are reading this. Yes, the news is out that director Samudirakani is busy with his next venture. The movie, which is titled Poraali, is produced by none other than Samudirakani’s close friend cum director Sasikumar.

Incidentally, Sasikumar is the hero of the movie. It is to be recalled here that the pair’s last movie together, Nadodigal, was a runaway success and got lots of awards including the Best Film award in the recently concluded Filmfare awards.

Earlier it was said that Silambarasan and Bharath are going to share screen space for a film titled ‘Vaanam’, which is the remake of the Telugu blockbuster ‘Vedam’ being directed by Krish.

Much faster than the film commencement, Simbu has completed the first schedule of the movie and likely to begin its second schedule in the first week of September.

In the mean time, Bharath will join the unit and the scenes pertaining to him will be shooting.

Superstar actresses from south Indian films who were launched in Bollywood with fanfare have failed to fire.

Over the past couple of years, the Hindi film industry has witnessed the entry of several superstar actresses from south India.

It started with Shriya Saran's debut in Awarapan in 2007. She was followed by Genelia D'Souza who, after an earlier flop stint, was 'launched' again in Bollywood with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na in 2008.

Later the same year, Asin saw a blockbuster debut by way of Ghajini. And Trisha Krishnan was launched with hype in Khatta Meetha recently.

There's a common thread here. All these girls have been established names down South before foraying Bollywood. And despite the abundant hype surrounding their debut, their careers haven't exactly taken off in Hindi films.

While Asin's second release London Dreams was a dud, she has managed to bag just one film in all this time - that too a hero-dominated action film named Ready, starring her current Godfather Salman Khan.

Shriya and Genelia have had a string of flops. And Trisha, reeling under the failure of Khatta Meetha has no takers in Bollywood right now.

Industry experts point at several reasons for their failure - signing wrong films, being too choosy, sticking to a certain kind of roles, and the ambition to make best of both the worlds (southern as well as Hindi films).

"Why do you think top Hindi actresses never venture South? It's because you can't balance between two boats at the same time. Ultimately, everything boils down to success," says trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

"A big factor that comes in the way of these girls getting films in Mumbai is the fee they demand. Because they are superstars down South, they come with a hefty price.

They forget that in Bollywood they are newcomers in a level playing playing field," says a veteran producer, not wishing to be named.

I took the last shot of ‘Rakht Charitra’ yesterday. From the inception of the idea of wanting to make ‘Rakht Charitra’ till the point of me taking the last shot was an incredible journey for both my mind the way it started perceiving and understanding the research material and then also how it studied the minds of the various involved parties.

So a constant analysis and thereby a due course of me being psyched up by what kind of conclusive truths I have reached in various mental states of mine resulted in a situation that by the time I reached the last shot it made me truly believe that what I shot in Cinema is real and what happened in real was Cinema.

The characters who inspired me got mixed up with the characters I created and the same goes to the incidents.

Yes it’s true that my attempt was to stay close to the truth to the best of my limits and knowledge but like I said earlier, it’s truth as I know it and believe it but it’s not necessarily the absolute truth.

But what’s even more strange is that even the people involved in the actual incidents were confused when they saw some scenes as to what is true and what is not.

The reason for that is because they have seen the incident in person but never from a certain other person’s point of view.

So even though they knew the truth of what is being depicted in the film, now after seeing the film they came to know with much more clarity why certain things happened and how they happened which they probably never understood in their entirety at the time those incidents actually happened.

Coming back to the last shot, never in my career I felt such an exhilaration and a strange sense of a mixture of both a release and a relief through any

film I have done so far in my career.

It’s not so much for the film but for the fact that I travelled all this time with each of all the various characters of ‘Rakht Charitra’ and their emotions and

now I feel that with the last shot I have reached them to their destinations or atleast to their destinations as conceived and perceived by me.

More than the audience I am actually dying to see, know and feel the reactions of the real people from whom its characters are inspired from.

I feel this attempt of mine will be hugely worth while if they even think, feel, realize, and learn a little something from ‘Rakta Charitra’ about themselves and more importantly about their adversaries.

Suriya’s Rakta Charitra movie coming on September 17

Suriya’s Raktha Charitra, being simultaneously made in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil, has already created records even before its release.

The overseas rights of the Tamil versions titled Rattha Charitram, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, has been sold for a record Rs 4.5 crores (over US $1 million)!

With this, Suriya has joined the elite ‘Million dollar club of Tamil superstars’ which includes Rajinikanth ($2.5 million), Kamal Haasan ($1.5 million) and Vijay ($ 1 million). It is the highest-ever overseas price paid for a Suriya film.

The latest buzz is that the Hindi version (Raktha Charitra), which was scheduled to release in August, will now grace theatres on September 17.

There are also reports that RGV is planning to make the Hindi version in two parts and Tamil version as a single film.

Reason: Suriya’s role will begin only towards the end of the first part of the film and hence the Tamil version will narrate the story from his perspective.

It is well known that veteran director Gautham Menon is busy shooting for his next thriller upcoming film ‘Nadunisi Naaigal’.

The interesting news about this film is that there will be no audio launch at all for this movie.

Guess why? As there are no songs in this film which is said to be a terrific thriller set in the backdrop of Chennai and even no background score added to the film, there will be no audio launch for this film.

The director says “Thriller movies normally tend to scare the audience with music.

I want to try something different in ‘Nadunisi Naaigal’ and hence may not use any background score throughout the film. But I have not decided on it yet.”

The actress, who shared screen space with AB in her super hit film Amruthadhare says, "I had gone to meet Sumalatha aunty who was shooting for the Malayalam film Kandahar with him.

I knew he was on the sets but was a bit shy to meet him as I didn't know if he would remember me.

I mean it's been a while since we had done that film and he keeps meeting so many people every day! When the director introduced me to him, I was shocked to find that he recognised me. Seeing and talking to him made my day."

The actor even introduced her to Mohanlal, she adds. "While shooting for Amruthadhare, he used to read my hands and predict my future.

On this occasion too, he did the same and jokingly told Mohanlal that this was one way of holding the hand of a beautiful girl! He is a very humble person."

Actress Ragini Dwivedi who is in two of Amitabh Bachchan's four scenes in Kandahar seconds Ramya.

"When I saw him for the first time, I was a bit scared and hesitant to talk to him. But I soon realised that he was such a down to earth person.

We shot for two days and in one of the scenes I even got to hug him! We discussed my Kannada films and he was pleased to know that I had done over five films in just over a year and that I was venturing into Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu," she says.

As there is less than one day left for the release of much waited audio of Shankar directed Rajinikanth’s latest film ‘Endhiran’ which is to be held tomorrow in Malaysia.

It has come to known that all the people linked with the film are reaching Malaysia batch wise.

Now the latest news is that Simbu and his friend VTV Ganesh are likely to fly Malaysia today.

But some what quite disappointing news is that Simbu who is said to dance for a song in ‘Endhiran’ on the audio launch stage is not going to perform it now as he had no time to rehearse for the song.

But any way, tomorrow there will be a mega glittering audio event launch that will be eye feasting to watch it.

Naan Mahaan Alla movie on screens August 20th!

Naan Mahaan Alla, the Karthi starrer, is all set to be released on August 20th. The film is distributed by Cloud Nine Movies and produced by Gnanavel Raja who earlier had produced Surya’s Sillunu Oru Kadhal and the award-winning Paruthiveeran by Ameer Sultan, which incidentally also starred Karthi in the lead role.

Director Sussendran after the success of Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, has gone to make Naan Mahaan Alla, the film would deal about problems in city life, he says that it will be another feather on Karthi’s cap.

Kajal Agarwal plays the female lead in this film. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for Naan Mahan Alla.

While Karthi’s character is a middle class bank employee, Aggarwal would play an employee in a mobile phone company

Trisha is for the first time pairing with Kamal Haasan in the film Manmadha Ambu. Udhayanidhi Stalin is producing the film which is being directed K S Ravikumar. The shooting of the film took place in Italy, France and Spain for more than 50 days. Trisha who had completed the shooting and returned to Chennai gave an interview to the media.

How was the experience acting with Kamal Haasan for the first time in the film Manmadha Ambu?

Kamal sir is like a university. I have learnt a lot of things from him. I have been to foreign locales for many films. But Manmadha Ambu was a sweet experience.

It is seems you got lost in the ship?

It is not some controversial thing. It happened just like that. Since there was huge crowd, there was commotion.

How is your first Hindi film Khatta Meeta doing?

This film is doing well at the box office in all the cities including Chennai. I am donning the role of a Corporation Commissioner in that film. There is a good reception among the audience.

In Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya you acted in a kissing scene with Simbhu. Will you continue to act in kissing scenes?

That scene in Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya was a natural one. It was just merely lip touching lip. Gowtham Menon has shot it in a decent way. I will continue to act in kissing scene.

There was a controversy about Asin because she had been to Sri Lanka for a Hindi film shooting. You have also started acting in Hindi films. Will you to Sri Lanka for shooting?

I am a Tamil girl born and brought up in Tamil Nadu. If the Nadigar Sangam says that we shouldn’t go to Sri Lanka, I will not go there whether it is Hindi or any other language films. Such a situation has not risen for me. We will see when it comes.

For the last seven years you are a successful heroine. Have you not thought about marriage? When are you going to get married? Whether that will be love marriage?

I have not thought marriage so far. Now I don’t have the mind of getting married. But I firm in one thing. If at all I am getting married, that will be love marriage only. Only after moving with him and understand him, than only will I get married.

Ajith and Vishnuvardhan ready for Billa 2 Shoot!

Billa(2007) starring Ajith kumar was made based on the 1980 Super Star starring film of the same name by Vishnuvardhan, and the film was eventually one of the highest grossing Tamil films of the year showing to world Director Vishnuvardhan’s association with Ajith could be a successful one.

As Billa proved to be a landmark movie in Tamil cinema for its stylish looks and action sequences. After Billa Ajith later went on to act in Aegan and Asal while Vishnuvardhan directed Sarvam.

Now the latest news on the actor-director duo is out. Vishnuvardhan is all set to partner again with Ajith for the sequel on Billa.

Sources confirm that Vishnu is ready with the script and is waiting for confirmation of dates from Ajith.

It is confirmed that the shooting of Billa 2 will commence from early 2011. Whether Ajith will start Billa 2 after his ‘mangatha’ with Venkat Prabhu is still not known.

And on the producers if one should make a guess it would be none other than Sivaji Productions as Ajith Kumar had previously promised them that he’ll work for another project with the producers.

However Billa 2 sounded to our ears in 2008 when soundarya Rajinikanth had said she would start working on the film after June 2009, by which time Ajith will be free from Aegan and she will be free from Sultan: the warrior..But as Soundarya is still not in a position to release her Sultan the Warrior, Billa 2 remains a dream project for her still now?

Suriya’s Rattha Charithram Movie for Diwali??

Suriya’s ticket to Bollywood may have its reach few months later from the time it was expected.

Ram Gopal Varma during his media interaction in Chennai assured that the film will hit screens along with ‘Raktha Charithra – 2’ (Hindi and Telugu) by August.

Unfortunately, the release date of ‘RC-1’ has been postponed to September 17. Just as the producers had planned to release the second part at least after 3-4 weeks of time, it may gradually delay the release of Tamil version, which has Suriya in lead role.

The reason why the makers wanted to avoid first part in Tamil was due to the star-casts so uncommon and unfamiliar to Tamil film buffs in Chennai.

Now, it’s slightly implying that the Tamil version’s release may extend up to last week of October or precisely for Diwali, which means November 5.

Anyways, there haven’t been official confirmations from any ends and keep logging to this column for more updates.

Film-maker Aathi of Silandi fame is back with an action thriller Naran. Choreographer Agnishwaran and actress Poorna play the lead roles.

In this film, Poorna plays the role of a bubbly girl who is an ardent fan of Jyotika. Monica is the second heroine.

“Unlike regular thrillers, Naran is set in a completely different backdrop and the time factor plays a crucial role in the film,” Aathi said to a leading English daily.

“Naran refers to a man. According to Hindu mythology, Narasimha avatar is often called Naran. Though there is no devotional or horror angle, the film is about how a man contacts supernatural powers,” he added.

Kanja Karuppu provides the comedy element while Shaman Mithru (former associate of Ravi K. Chandran and K.V. Anand) is the cameraman.

The film is produced by Dinesh Karthi and music is composed by Dhina. Satish Kurasova is the editor. Shooting will begin in the third week of August.

Ileana or Trisha in 3 Idiots Tamil remakes?

Gemini Film Circuit (GFC), which bagged the Tamil-Telugu remake rights of the biggest Hindi blockbuster 3 Idiots, confirmed that this project will take place after numero uno director Shankar releases his magnum opus Endhiran starring Rajinikanth.

Recently Shankar’s publicist tweeted that Vijay, Simbu and Madhavan, along with Sathyaraj (in the role made memorable by Boman Irani), will feature in the Tamil version, while the only change in the Telugu version will be Mahesh Babu replacing Vijay.

Then Madhavan tweeted, “So sorry folks! I’m unable to do 3 Idiots in Tamil and Telugu. Have other plans. I am sure they will find worthier replacements.”

Earlier it was said that the ace director Gautham Menon’s biggest Tamil hit ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya’ is to be remade in Hindi soon and Ambika Hinduja’s Serendipity Films has acquired the releasing rights of the film and Gautham Menon will direct and produce the film under RS Infotainment banner with Photon Kathaas and Mumbai’s Purple Arts in Hindi.

The latest news is that the shooting of this romantic remake in Hindi has started today.

It was also reported that Trisha will play the lead role in Hindi version also. Prateik Babbar is going to play Simbu’s role.

A R Rahman, who did the original would be composing the tunes for Hindi version also while Antony handles editing, art by Rajeevan and cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa.

Nadigar Sangam rescues Asin and Vijay

Asin returning to Kollywood has been the latest buzz in the media for quite sometime with everyone speculating on what film she will choose and with which actor.

The latest of these buzz is that Asin Thottumkal will next be seen in the Tamil remake of ‘Bodyguard’. The Malayalam version ‘Bodyguard’ is directed by Siddique and featured Dhilip-Nayanthara in lead roles.

Producer R.B Choudary of Super Good Films has signed Siddique and Vijay for this remake version.

South Indian Artists Association popularly known as Nadigar Sangam at its 58th annual meeting has come to the rescue of its beleaguered members Asin and Vijay.

Asin defying a ban had visited the war-ravaged Sri Lanka, for the shooting of Salman Khans Ready, and some members of the Nadigar Sangam wanted to issue a red card against her.

Sarath Kumar, the Nadigar Sangam chief has now made it clear that a joint committee would decide on granting permission to film stars to visit the island nation, and they would abide by that decision.

Asin in real headache – NRI’s to boycott

Kaaval Kaadhal is a forthcoming Tamil romantic comedy film written and directed by Siddique. Starring Vijay and Asin Thottumkal in lead roles, the film is the remake of the director's previous Malayalam film Bodyguard.

The film began its principle shoot in April 2010

With the announcement of the remake, Siddique had finalized Vijay to play the lead role, reminiscent to their previous venture Friends (2001), which was also a remake of Siddique's own Malayalam film.

Asin Thottumkal was signed up to pair with Vijay for the third time after their previous pairings in Sivakasi (2005) and Pokkiri (2007), also giving Thottumkal a comeback in Tamil cinema after her last appearance in Dasavathaaram (2008). Vadivelu, Rajkiran, and Roja Selvamani were also signed up for supporting characters. The film's principal shoot began in April at Kumbakonam.[6]

An incident occurred on sets in April, where Asin, her father, and her make up assistants had fainted in their caravan after being exposed to a gas leak. They were treated in hospital the same day and were eventually discharged.

The second shoot schedule occurred in Vellore. Vijay and Asin, along with director Siddique and rest of crew had taken part in the shooting at the Vellore Institute of Technology.

A song was shot at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is the second time, Vijay went to Malaysia after Kuruvi.

The Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FeTNA) said Asin films would be boycotted by their members because of her visit to Sri Lanka, despite a ban by the Tamil film industry.

When Asin was in Srilank for IFFA she visited an eye camp in Jaffna, drawing the ire.

Aayiram Vilakku (English: Thousand Lights) is a forthcoming Indian Tamil action film directed by S. P. Hosimin, in his second venture, starring Sathyaraj and Shanthnoo in the lead roles, whilst, Sana Khan plays a pivotal role.

The film, produced by HMI Pictures and scored by Srikanth Deva, is currently in its filming stage and is expected to release in 2010.

Musical Director Bhagyaraj’s son Santhanu’s, latest forthcoming flick ‘Aayiram Vilakku’ is going to hit the music stands on August 9th. The film is being directed by SP Hosimin of ‘February 14′ fame.

After the success of ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’, director Suseendran is eagerly waiting for the release of his latest forthcoming flick ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ that has Karthi and Kajal Agarwal in the lead roles.

The director on speaking about the film story says “NMA is a slice of our life in a big city. Karthi plays a happy-go-lucky, middle-class guy, whose life takes a dramatic turn after a particular incident in his life.

I chose Karthi because he has a very innocent face and one can easily relate to him.

This is a character Karthi has not attempted before and he’s done a fabulous job of it.

Jayaprakash of Pasanga fame plays his father and the scenes with Karthi and Jayaprakash are a treat. It’s a stylish yet realistic film.”

He further adds “Moreover, since 80% of the film was shot live, I had to be very careful with the crowd.

NMA demanded special attention as the film moves in a rapid pace. That’s the reason that I don’t want to classify it into a particular genre.

Jeeva, Karthika, Ajmal and Piaa in the lead, K V Anand’s forthcoming latest film ‘Ko’ is progressing its shooting at brisk pace in Bangalore.

The latest news is that the sequences involving the terrific 2008 Mumbai attack were shot in Bangalore recently.

Sources say that the scene which was shot involved commandos fighting with ultras to free places and people who were in their control.

They further adds “It was shot on a huge budget and will be one of the highlights of the film.”

Sources further say “The film is in its last stages of shoot. Like the earlier ventures of Anand (‘Kana Kanden’ and ‘Ayan’), ‘Ko’ too will be a racy entertainer with all necessary commercial elements.”

Director Lingusamy has sacked Silambarasan from his forthcoming venture, actor Silambarasan has come out with his version and clarified his stance on the whole fiasco.

‘Techincally I have not signed any film with Cloud Nine nor have I allotted any dates to them. Dhayanidhi Azhagiri is my close friend and we share a great rapport.

Lingusamy has not been able to narrate the script to me till date nor tell me the exact dates that he wants.

I waited for over 100 days in vain for his complete script and then decided to do a quickie Vaanam.

I had informed Durai about it, before he left to South Africa for football finals and he promised me that we will start the shoot from September 1′.

‘ was shell shocked to read reports in the media that Lingusamy has sacked me! How can he expect me to wait for more than 100 days without a proper script or dates of shoot? I had told him that I will be free from September 1, after 15 days shoot of Poda Podi in London which has already been fixed.

But he jumped the gun and announces that I have been replaced by another actor! This is totally unprofessional and not done.’

The news is out that Lingusamy has signed Kajal Agarwal as the heroine of his movie.

It is to note here that Lingusamy has not decided upon the hero for his project yet. Incidentally Kajal Agarwal is awaiting release of her next movie "Naan Mahaan Alla" with Karthi.

Though Kajal Agarwal’s first film is Bharathi Raja’s Bommalattam, her second film Pazhani with Bharath had hit the screens before and she is a known name in the industry now.

Santhanam is the fastest rising comedian in Kollywood. Santhanam is a Tamil comedian and actor in Tamil cinema. He has appeared in a whole range of films mostly as a friendly comedian.

His fame started off in the television sitcom Lollu Sabha. He debuted in Manmadhan in 2004 and later appeared in several comedy and drama films.

His comedy style is very similar to that of veteran comedian Goundamani.

Santhanam began his career in the popular comedy troupe "Nungambakkam Boys Kondaatam" who did comedy shows particularly during Diwali.

The troupe included M. S. Bhaskar who occasionally assisted them with his performances.

He moved to television shows such as Chinna Papa Periya Papa in 1999 and in Kovai Anuradha's Costly Maapillai.

3 Idiots play Vijay, Simbu and Madhavan in kollywood

The biggest blockbuster in Indian cinema, Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots, is going to be remade by a leading south Indian film production company in Tamil and Telugu.

Shankar, the numero uno director in south India, has confirmed to news channels in Andhra that he will be in charge of the remake. There will be an official statement once Shankar decides on the cast and crew of the film.

Meanwhile, Shankar’s publicist has tweeted that Vijay, Simbu and Madhavan, along with Sathyaraj (playing the role made memorable by Boman Irani), will feature in the Tamil version, while the only change in the Telugu version will be Mahesh Babu replacing Vijay.

If this dream project takes off, then it will perhaps be the biggest ever movie in south cinema.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the producer of the original, has confirmed that he has sold the remake rights to the leading production house in south, who had earlier purchased his Munna Bhai MBBS.

A spokesperson of the production house confirmed that the project will take place after Shankar releases his magnum opus Endhiran.

Asked why Shankar, who normally does not do remakes, has opted for the project, the spokesperson said, “After doing a film (Endhiran) which cost more than Rs 100 crore, he cannot go back to doing mundane movies.

The remake of 3 Idiots is a bilingual and features big stars like Vijay and Mahesh.
It cannot get bigger than this.” Shankar and the production house feel that what will work in favour of the film, apart from being a multi-starrer, is its “story, which has pure Indian sentiments and the message about the educational system.”

“Education is one of south India’s biggest industries and Shankar will make necessary changes and package it to suit the taste of the local audiences,” the source added.

Meanwhile, Madhavan has tweeted, “So sorry folks! I’m unable to do 3 Idiots in Tamil and Telugu. Have other plans.I am sure they will find worthier replacements.”

The votes are in and Nagarjuna's next movie would be called Gaganam. That is the verdict of the people who cast their votes for the film, out of the three names finally selected for the final film.

A lot of people also voted for Wanted and Payanam. Of these, Payanam has been named the Tamil film's title. However the verdict is in for Gaganam which got massive amounts of votes for the name.

Dil Raju had set up an email ID where the decision of the audience was the final one. And Dil Raju was happy with the final naming decision of the film.

It looks like this film would have quite a few new innovations, including the use of new RED cameras which would be used for Gaganam.

The film would also have Nagarjuna work in a totally different role.

The audio launch of Amma creations and Uniq productions latest venture ‘Kanimozhi’ was released in a grand event at the Kalaignar Arangam on yesterday evening.

The audio was released by CM Karunanidhi and was received by Vijay. A short trailer showing the lead actors of film Jai and Shazahn Padamsee was screened along with three songs from the film.

Producer T Siva said, “Kanimozhi MP agreed to let us use this title after hearing the story. We started in April and completed the shoot in 46 days using 67 rolls of film.

Director Sripathy Rangasamy has done a well planned execution of the shoot with no wastage of time or film.”

Vijay said, “The title is very good. In fact I always felt that all the names of the Kalaignar’s family have powerful names and would make powerful film titles. I wish the team all the best.

Jai is a good actor who acted in Bhagvathy with me. My son is a big fan of the way he shakes his head in Subramaniyapuram.”
